Hello! My name is Lauren Sanches. The fact that you’re on our website and reading this tells me that you’re looking for something. Maybe you’re hurting and want to improve your mental health and feel better, or maybe you’re looking for some self-exploration and have finally decided to give therapy a try. Whatever it is that you’re looking for, I’d love to try and help you find it. I consider it an honor and a privilege to go on this journey with you.
I work with adults with anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, and challenges navigating life transitions. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable verbalizing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. Together we will explore how to break out of old patterns and learn new ways of being. My goal is for you to walk away from our time together feeling less stuck and more self aware.
I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and am supervised by Cynthia Horwitz, MS, LPC-S. Originally, I earned Bachelors' and Masters’ degrees in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. I worked for 9 years in Accounting as a CPA before deciding to change careers to pursue counseling. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and often incorporate mindfulness techniques into counseling, when appropriate. I guess I’ve worn a lot of hats in my life.
My approaches:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
Person-Centered Therapy
ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy)
Mindfulness
When I’m not counseling, I enjoy yoga, reading, traveling, and seeing musicals. I also love spending time with my husband, young daughter, and rescue pup. Please feel free to schedule a FREE 15-minute consultation with me. I would love to meet you and start to learn your story!
