Hey! My name is Sophie Synek! I am Healing Pathways’ Clinical Intern, and I can’t wait to get to know you!

My goal is to meet you exactly where you are. As a narrative therapist, I want to get to know your life’s story and empower you to live out your most authentic narrative. My office is a judgment-free zone because I believe everyone is doing the absolute best they can with what they have. Instead of considering myself the expert, I believe that you already have all the tools inside of you that you need to be the best version of yourself. Together, we can navigate your story while promoting self-exploration and growth!

For my undergraduate degree, I studied psychology at The University of Oklahoma- Boomer Sooner! Right now, I am pursuing a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). I am a member of the Family Therapy Student Association (FTSA) and help encourage continued learning outside of the classroom. I was recently presented the Master’s Level Student Achievement Award for the state of Texas, so I guess you could say I love what I do! I will be working towards my licensure under the supervision of Mallory Striesfeld, LPC-S, LMFT-Associate. My experience includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, body image issues, grief, and relational difficulties. I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive therapeutic space that allows us to celebrate diversity and personal strengths.

In my free time, you can catch me doing kickboxing classes, playing golf, dancing, spending a day in the park, or hanging out with friends and family. Bonus points if there is live music! As your therapist, I will always encourage self-care, even in the little moments!
