Back to School Journaling Prompts For Teens

It’s that time of year again, and I wanted to share some journaling prompts to help your teen have some time for self-reflection as the school year begins. It’s been an incredibly challenging few years living through a pandemic, and it’s important to honor those feelings that may come up. There may be frustration and grief about the lack of normalcy at school, and there may be anxiety about heading back to the classroom. It’s important to get in tune with your emotions and take a minute to reflect on how you’re feeling about the upcoming school year.

Here are a few journaling prompts to reflect upon:

  1. What am I most excited about this year?

  2. What am I most stressed/anxious about this year?

  3. What is my favorite way to study?

  4. What effect does the pandemic have on me this school year?

  5. How will I spend time relaxing after a stressful day?
